Galtymoore Gerty to take down the line-up of the Bags Track Championship Sprint ?
Contestants from Crayford and Hove have gathered at Sittingbourne for competing in the Bags Track Championship Sprint on Thursday, 1st November over 265 metres flat. The mix includes two from each track, including the hosting track. The prize money of the race is set at ?200. All have a different story pasted on their profiles, but the majority has been trained before taking up tonight?s challenge.
Taking the red box and the best odds is the 11 to 4 shot, Galtymoore Gerty. The brindle bitch is known for her extreme ends when racing, either it?s the visit to the winner?s enclosure or the sixth position.
The two-year-old has raced at Hove, Crayford and Sittingbourne. She has raced and excelled over variant distances.
First time during the current season when she raced over 265 metres was on 7th August at Sittingbourne. She qualified as the runner-up after the winner, Galtymoore Tom, had completed the trip in 16.80 seconds.
The last four outings of Ballymac Ruso?s daughter were over the same distance and at the same venue, however, only two could result in success and as mentioned before, the remaining were sixth positions.
The favourite entry of B. Connolly trained won the Grade D1 265 metres flat race on 14th October, 2012 at Sittingbourne. She broke from the very first trap, was quick to set into a high gear, broke free from the crowding, and then surged on from the first position. She made the transit in 16.69 seconds, and defeated Swift Result just by half-length.
The two-year-old out of, Knockura Way, extended the winning form to the Grade D1 265 metres flat race on 18th October, 2012. The shift from the first to the second box did not seem to bother her the least bit. She distanced from the rest of the competition early, and then maintained the lead until 16.50 seconds.
With the final length in her favour, she set Daras Delight as the runner-up.
The race that could have served as the final leg of the hat-trick ended with the most miserable position.
The brindle hound has drawn the first trap out of which she won just recently.
