I recently heard a conversation about focusing so much on goals and the end result is missing out on the joy of the journey.
Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.?Greg Anderson?
I say I can do both. And I do. I digress.
Where am I going with this? Last month I joined Abby at Back At Square Zero, and some of my other favorite running bloggers, ?for the #goalgetter2013 Instagram challenge. The general idea is on the last day of every month post an Instagram picture(s) reflecting your goal(s). The challenge has me rethinking my typical approach to goals of having 6 or so long-term goals. For a few months I?m going to try consciously incorporating short-term monthly goals within [not in addition to] my yearly goals.
January || Health and Fitness Goals
- run 2 trail races ? I ended up running 1
- 3-4 days/week strength training depending on mileage ? SUCCESS
February || Health and Fitness Goals?
- natural running form drills?3 days/week
- run 4 days/week
- strength train 3-4 days/week depending on mileage
- run 2 trail races

Are you a short-term goal person or long-term? Maybe both? What are your goals for February??
