Procter & Gamble expects to add 200 jobs to Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. ? Procter & Gamble plans to hire 200 new employees over the next three years to expand its skin care production at the plant in Brown Summit.

This will bring the total number of employees at the P&G plant up to around 950. The plant has been open since 1982.

Plant capabilities manager Brent Holmes said he?s glad Procter & Gamble chose Greensboro for this expansion.

?We also recognize that we?ve got to do this extremely well and so we?re looking forward to that challenge. We think we?re up to it,? Holmes said.

Authorities said the packaged goods company is undergoing a $100 million plant expansion.

Officials said salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for these new jobs is projected to be $52,000.

?This is another example of an existing business that has affirmed the fact that operating out of Greensboro is a valuable part of their company?s strategy for success,? said Dan Lynch, president of the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance, according to a prepared statement. ?Greensboro is a great place for business.?
